【摘要】:Thistestmethodisapplicabletoassessthein-placeuniformityofconcrete,todelineateregionsinastructureofpoorqualityordeterioratedconcrete,andtoestimatein-placestrengthdevelopment.Tousethistestmethodtoestimatestrengthrequiresestablishingarelationshipbetweenstrengthandreboundnumber.Therelationshipshallbeestablishedforagivenconcretemixtureandgivenapparatus.Therelationshipshallbeestablishedovertherangeofconcretestrengththatisofinterest.Toestimatestrengthduringconstruction,establishtherelationshipbyperformingreboundnumbertestsonmoldedspecimensandmeasuringthestrengthofthesameorcompanionmoldedspecimens.Toestimatestrengthinanexistingstructure,establishtherelationshipbycorrelatingreboundnumbersmeasuredonthestructurewiththestrengthsofcorestakenfromcorrespondinglocations.SeeACI228.1R4foradditionalinformationondevelopingtherelationshipandonusingtherelationshiptoestimatein-placestrength.Foragivenconcretemixture,thereboundnumberisaffectedbyfactorssuchasmoisturecontentofthetestsurface,themethodusedtoobtainthetestsurface(typeofformmaterialortypeoffinishing),andthedepthofcarbonation.Thesefactorsneedtobeconsideredinpreparingthestrengthrelationshipandinterpretingtestresults.Differenthammersofthesamenominaldesignmaygivereboundnumbersdifferingfrom1to3units.Therefore,testsshouldbemadewiththesamehammerinordertocompareresults.Ifmorethanonehammeristobeused,performtestsonarangeoftypicalconcretesurfacessoastodeterminethemagnitudeofthedifferencestobeexpected.Thistestmethodisnotintendedasthebasisforacceptanceorrejectionofconcretebecauseoftheinherentuncertaintyintheestimatedstrength.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofareboundnumberofhardenedconcreteusingaspring-drivensteelhammer.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
