【摘要】:1.1Scope.1.1.1*Thisstandardshallprescribethemethodologytomeasureflametraveldistanceandopticaldensityofsmokeforinsulated,jacketed,orboth,electricalwiresandcablesandopticalfibercablesthataretobeinstalledinplenumsandotherspacesusedtotransportenvironmentalairwithoutbeingenclosedinraceways.1.1.2ThistestmethodshallnotprovideinformationonthefireperformanceofinsulatingmaterialscontainedinelectricaloropticalcablesinfireconditionsotherthantheonesspecificallyusedinSection6.6ofthisstandard,norshallitmeasurethecontributionofthecablestoadevelopingfirecondition.1.1.3*AlthoughthistestusesequipmentsimilartothatusedinNFPA255,StandardMethodofTestofSurfaceBurningCharacteristicsofBuildingMaterials,andinASTME84,StandardTestMethodforSurfaceBurningCharacteristicsofBuildingMaterials,sufficientchangeshavebeenmadetothechambersothatatestconductedintheapparatususedforNFPA255orASTME84shallnotbeconsideredidenticalorproductiveofcomparableresults.1.1.4Becausethisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblemsassociatedwithitsuse,itshallbetheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesandtodeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
